The Cabinet has condemned recent racist and sexist incidents around the country which it says have the potential to undermine the goal of a democratic, non-racial and non-sexist society. The incidents include a racist video produced by four students of the University of the Free State, and a Johannesburg woman who was harassed by taxi drivers for wearing a mini skirt.
Government spokesperson Themba Maseko says soccer boss Irwin Khoza was also taken to task for using the K-word during a news conference. Maseko says the Cabinet has called on Free State University and all other institutions of higher learning to take concrete steps to abolish all forms of racism.
