Ginwala Commission demands further clarity

Frene Ginwala

The Ginwala Commission of Enquiry has asked suspended NPA and govt for clarity

March 05, 2008, 13:00

The Ginwala Commission of Enquiry has asked suspended National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) head Vusi Pikoli, and the government, to clarify statements made by them in their January submissions. The parties have until the 10th of this month to make written submissions in this regard.

The Commission is investigating the apparent breakdown in the working relationship between Justice Minister Brigitte Mabandla and Pikoli. The initial timeframe mapped out by the Commission was March 15.

The process has, however, been beset by delays and rescheduling. A new completion date will be announced soon.
