"Bantu Holomisa in Focus!"

The United Democratic Movement launches its election manifesto in KwaZulu Natal on Saturday, January 31. Party leader, Bantu Holomisa, speaks to Freek Robinson 'live' on Focus about the manifesto and the party's plans for the upcoming elections.

Bantu Holomisa

Major General Bantu Holomisa co-founded the United Democratic Movement (UDM) in 1997 with Roelf Meyer and currently serves as its President.

In 1999, twenty months after the United Democratic Movement was established, Holomisa and 13 other members of the organisation were elected to Parliament. The UDM is also represented in six provincial legislatures being the official opposition in the Eastern Cape and Limpopo provinces.

Previously, he was the Commander of the Transkei Defence Force and Head of the Transkei government (former independent homeland - 1987 to 1994) until the 1994 election.
