Eldorado – a mythical paradise and land of gold. But in Gauteng the image of Eldorado Park is far removed from the fabled paradise. It’s associated with gangs, rape, murder, drugs and domestic violence. But at last the negative image is changing, thanks to the community’s support for its police forum.
The police station used to rank among the lowest scoring countrywide in terms of service delivery. It’s improved its position from 2023rd to 235th nationally. In Gauteng it’s the number two police station and in Soweto it’s ranked tops. The new image of Eldorado Park is one of empathy and support for victims of crime and zero-tolerance for crime and criminals.
