This
Tuesday Special Assignment goes on patrol with
the Hillbrow police as they enforce the law in one of
South Africa's most crime-ridden areas.
Over the past few months
some violent crime has shown a dramatic decline in the
Hillbrow precinct. The police believe it's the result of
a concerted effort at a high visibility policing in the
area.

|
|
A Special Assignment
team was granted exclusive access to the police.
We follow three committed "Hillbrow Blues"
as they take on the criminals and low-lifes in high
rise Johannesburg. From special operations with the
SAPS elite Intervention Unit to routine stop and
search patrols, we show you zero tolerance in action.
From following the leads on a cell phone scam to
sniffing out an arms syndicate, from tracking down
drug dealers to cleaning up "bad" buildings,
it's all part of a day's work for these cops.

Richard
Hills, Kokkies de Jager and Elvis Godi are proud
policemen who have an acute sense of commitment to
Hillbrow. "I would cry myself do death if I had to
leave here", says Hills. "This is what being a
policeman is all about".
