Road closures scheduled for 46664 concert

November 30, 2007, 19:15

The roads around Ellis Park will be blocked off for the 46664 concert from 5am tomorrow, said Johannesburg metro police.

Spokesperson Wayne Minnaar said the roads included Siemmert Road, Sidewright Road, Van Beek Street and Bertrams Road; as well as Upper Railway Road.

Minnaar said the roads would be re-opened at 2am on Sunday. People going to the concert are advised to use the park and ride facilities.

People can park their cars at Bezuidenhout Park or Enoch Sontogo Road at the Witwatersrand University and then pay R20 to take a bus to the stadium.

A crowd of 40 000 is expected to attend the concert, said Minnaar. - Sapa
