More than 40 local musicians will be among the international artists to perform at this year's Nelson Mandela's 46664 AIDS Benefit Concert to be held at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg in December.

Hip-hop sensation Ludacris, songbird Corinne Bailey Rae, Peter Gabriel, Goo Goo Dolls and Jamelia were the first international artists to be confirmed to perform at the concert.

Thousands of music fans can expect the likes of Johnny Clegg, Loyiso and Malaika to perform their favourite songs.

The 46664 concert will take place on World Aids Day, December 1. It will be hosted in the City of Johannesburg for the very first time. The concert will be the fifth event staged in different centres across the world since its founding in 2002.
