Madisha is now waiting for action that wll taken against him
|
October 05, 2007, 11:45
An independent commission or task team will decide what form of action should be taken against Cosatu President, Willie Madisha, by February next year.
This comes after Cosatu yesterday confirmed that Madisha agreed to step down while his recent public statements and internal complaints against him are being investigated.
Cosatu's central executive committee held a special meeting in Johannesburg yesterday to discuss the way in which Madisha has publicly dealt with several issues. This includes the alleged R500 000 donation he received from arrested businessman, Charles Modise, five years ago.
Madisha maintains that he gave the donation to SACP General-Secretary Blade Nzimande. But Nzimande has vehemently denied this. Madisha has already declared that he will no longer be available to lead Cosatu or the teachers' union, Sadtu, in future.
