Talks between the City of Johannesburg and the SA Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) aimed at ending the Metrobus strike have deadlocked. This after the City refused to re-instate sacked workers. It has also refused to bring back accumulative sick leave.
Negotiations resumed last week Friday after Metrobus management said the strike needed to be resolved. The three month strike has affected more than 80 000 commuters, including pensioners and scholars.
A number of violent incidents, which left three drivers dead, have taken place since the strike began in January.
Meanwhile Metrobus commuters are continuing to use alternative transport.
