Poor Police services
phillip kgosana - Wednesday 20 February 2008

I am really not happy with the services provided by our police. In november 2008 was involved in a car accident. It took more than two hours for the police to arrive at the scene of which the nearest police station (Wonderboom) was just less than 10min away. since then use the train to commutte. one morning this month police personnel entered the train to search passengers and to my dismay only a three people were searched including myself. Question is how do they spot criminals? In many incident I find that the police are not doing their job properly hence we have the so called "petty crime". There is nothing petty about being mugged a cellphone or household appliances. I have a strong feeling that police should not undergo a six months training only but instead training should be coupled with a certain qualification(national diploma at least). The police should enter into a performance contract. The scorpions are one effective crime bursting unit which deals with high level organised crime, therefore SAPS and Metro deal with your petty crime.
