| the Zimbabwean teacher's story is the sorriest in the world imagine a professional who undergoes at least three years training at a teacher's training college getting paid in most cases more than a soldier or policeman who undergoes six month mostly physical training! The teacher is right at the bottom of the chain in the public service and is considered enemy of the state number one hence this deplorable treatment. He is a laughing stock to his pupils since he is lowly paid and as such his professional esteem has been completely eroded . To survive in Zim he has to be a full time vendor cross boarder trader and a black marketeer - why then close the only avenue left for the lucky ones to practice their trade in South Africa and this at t behest of the very authors of the Zim teachers' misery |
