Zimbabwe's opposition MDC says its leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, will announce today whether he will contest a run-off election against President Robert Mugabe.
Tsvangirai is to hold a press conference in Pretoria at 10:00 am this morning. He's spent most of his time since the disputed March 29 elections in South Africa, and there've been increasing calls on him to return home to Zimbabwe.
Yesterday, President Thabo Mbeki held talks with President Mugabe in Harare. There's been no report on what was discussed.
The MDC has refused to meet Mbeki, who is the SADC mediator for Zimbabwe.
Tsvangarai beat Mugabe in the first round of the presidential election but fell just short of an overall majority needed to avoid a run-off.
