Lesotho tries to resolve post election tension

September 27, 2007, 12:15

A three day congress aimed at resolving the post election conflict between political parties in Lesotho draws to a close in Maseru today. The congress was organised by the Electoral Institute of Southern Africa (EISA) and the Lesotho Council of Non-Governmental organisations (LCN).

The LCN's Executive Director, Seabata Motsamai, says political parties and NGOs will be expected to implement recommendations to strengthen democracy. He says since the election in February, various measures have been put in place to put an end to the conflict between the 19 political parties.
